Lager lovers, rejoice! Golden Age brews clean and crisp lagers that are eminently drinkable, stein after stein. Their mission is to explore the breadth and beauty of European lager, employing traditional Old-World brewing techniques (with the occasional New-World twist) on their Bavarian-made brewing system. Enjoy the brewery’s beers in a spacious, mid-century-inspired taproom and adjacent beer garden. Also on offer are smash burgers and other pub fare from the brewery’s scratch kitchen, plus classic cocktails, crisp Alpine wines, and a healthy dose of eclectic live music on the beer garden stage, aka the “Golden Stage.”
Golden Age Beer Co. comes to you from the same people who brought you Independent Brewing Company and Lorelei. The community of Homestead, Pennsylvania was chosen as the brewery’s location based on a desire to stimulate the rebirth of this historic neighborhood. When Homestead came together in 1892 to rebuff a barge full of armed Pinkertons, it was fueled by Homestead-brewed lager. The very brewers who crafted that lager stood in solidarity with their steel-worker brethren on the banks of the Monongahela. Today’s brewery stands in solidarity with this community as it moves toward a new golden age.
