Insurrection Aleworks is a relaxing and rustic brewery located in Heidelberg. Specializing in hoppy, sour and wild beers, Insurrection is also home to a full scratch kitchen. You won’t spot a microwave or freezer in sight. Pro tip: try the enormous charcuterie board if you’re into that sort of thing. And be sure to stop by our Strip District taproom too!
Co-owners Brad and Matt were both passionate about craft beer, but working in separate spaces. While Brad was brewing in Vermont/New York, Matt owned a craft beer bottleshop and restaurant. The two decided to combine their skills and open up a brewery. The name is an ode to John Neville, a tax collector whose house was burnt down thus leading into the Whiskey Rebellion/Insurrection, which gained national attention.
